About Us

a word from the founder

Let’s face it, there are so many other places you can go to to get a massage. But sometimes getting a massage is not about just ‘getting a massage’.

Our Story

A little introduction if you didn’t already know; Hi, my name is Gloria and I was a former national athlete. I grew up playing sports competitively so I’ve always had a competitive edge and I did everything I could to make sure I optimized my performance. I experienced firsthand the wonders of what a good rub down can do. This was especially prevalent when I tore my ACL and my athletic performance was greatly compromised and getting proper rehab after every strenuous training session was paramount not only for my sport but also in living my life, pain-free.

Needless to say, I’ve had my fair share of sports massages during my time. Some good, and some mediocre. So, what makes a good massage? A good massage is, of course, technique. Being able to find knots and pain points that physically ail the body. But what differentiates a good massage from a great one, is that human touch. Getting a massage can be quite an intimate thing. You are literally allowing a complete stranger to touch you, and that requires a lot of trust.

Humans from all walks of life should be able to get a massage in a safe and inclusive environment, from highly trained and qualified massage therapists you can trust. That’s how Knotty Strokes was born - because everyone deserves to live their best life!

I am happy to say that I have created lasting friendships with so many of my clients. Because that’s what a good massage therapist should be - a friend.

Xoxo,
